Fasting with Diabetes During Ramadan: Safe Suhoor and Iftar Guide
Fasting with diabetes should be planned with your doctor. Medication timing, insulin, hypoglycemia risk, and recent glucose control all matter.
Suhoor should include slow-digesting foods such as whole wheat roti, oats, daal, eggs, paneer, yogurt, and water. Avoid very salty foods and sugary tea.
Iftar should be gentle: water, one or two dates if suitable, then a balanced meal with protein, vegetables, and controlled roti or rice. Glucose checks do not break the fast and are important for safety.
